The back carries the Sparrow & North Star medallion: a struck-bronze seal, two swallows crossing beneath a north star, a boat under way on the waves, NAVAL SUBMARINE BASE NEW LONDON ringed around it. Both printed direct-to-film — full-colour fidelity thread can't hold, crisp through the wash instead of flaking off it.

The blank is honest workwear — mid-weight 5.0–5.3 oz cotton, tubular knit, taped neck and shoulders, double-stitched hems, so it holds its shape through the laundry instead of its receipt.
